The results of the "Moderna" vaccine is truly amazing, according to Anthony Fauchi

 

The director of the American Institute of Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauchi, said that he was pleased with the announcement by the U.S. company Moderna that its experimental anti-corona vaccine is nearly 95% effective.

"The idea of having a 94.5% effective vaccine is amazingly impressive," Fauchi, a member of the presidential hiv-virus cell, told to AFP, adding that the result was "truly amazing" and he did not think anyone expected it to be "that good."

"Many people had reservations about this technology, which has not yet been tested and proved effective," he said, adding that "some have criticized them for this."

Pfizer's alliance with Germany's Biotech announced last week that its experimental anti-corona vaccine, based on the same technology, has proven to be 90% effective in preventing HIV infection.

Fauche told AFP that these results confirm "the integrity of this technology", because "the data speaks for itself".

"I think when you have two vaccines like these that have proven to be more than 90% effective, technology won't have to provide more proof."

The U.S. company Moderna announced yesterday that the effectiveness of its coronavirus vaccine, according to provisional data for the final phase of clinical trials, has proven to be 94.5% effective.

The Moderna vaccine is based on a modern technology, an introduction of genetic instructions to human cells, to stimulate them to produce a protein matching the coronavirus protein and to create an immune response against this protein, according to AFP.
