These signs in the mouth indicate cancer

The British Oral Health Foundation has provided a set of advice on how to spot cancer early in this part of the body.

The specialists in this institution advised to pay attention to the following problems that may indicate cancer:

  • Lumps, swellings, and lumps in the head and neck.
  • Red and white spots on the tongue, bumps and sores if they last for more than three weeks
  • Bumps, swellings, and red and white spots inside of the cheeks.
  • Swelling of the gums and red and white spots on the lips

Nigel Carter, president of the foundation, advised: "If you notice anything unusual in the vicinity of the mouth, you must definitely see a dentist or a doctor."

He said it was important to detect the disease at an early stage, as this increased the chances of a full recovery.
