There are several signs to indicate a smartphone hack. Dmitry Podov, president of Angara Group, said that the main sign that the smartphone is being hacked is the emergence of a malfunction in the work of the applications, in particular its freezing and sudden return to work.
He added that other signs include reduced device performance or faster battery depletion than usual.
However, he urged the expert not to worry when such cases occurred, as there might be other reasons.
He stressed that it is necessary to act immediately if withdrawals and transfers of funds from accounts by phone appear incomprehensibly to the owner of the device, and said: "It makes sense in these cases to take serious care of the security of your device."
He explained that most smartphone hacking cases are not intended for extortion, as criminals are interested in accessing mobile banking applications and subscriptions to paid services.
He added: "You can block hackers and restore control of the device yourself by getting rid of the settings added to the phone, returning to the "factory mode" where you bought it, and changing all passwords. If that doesn't help, you should contact the service center."
