Galaxy SmartTag .. Samsung's next product

Samsung appears to be about to launch a new tile-like device to track missing items called Galaxy SmartTag.

The South Korean giant unveiled The SmartThings Find during the launch of the Galaxy Note 20 series, and explained how its new app can find more accurately compatible Galaxy products.

The tracking device was leaked over the past month, and there is some speculation that it could be announced alongside the Galaxy S21 later in January.

Galaxy SmartTag uses Bluetooth to connect to nearby devices and broadcast their location, so owners can find lost devices connected to the tracking device.

According to a regulatory file, the next device is powered by a replaceable circular battery, so you won't have to get rid of the device and buy a new one when the battery runs out.

The Samsung tracker looks very similar to Tile tracking devices, and leaks show that the Galaxy SmartTag comes in the form of a small square with circular angles and a hole in one of the edges to connect it to the keychain.

Images of the device filed with the Taiwanese telecommunications regulator have been posted with the EI-T5300 number and are in line with the illustration of the device leaked from Samsung's SmartThings app.

Two years ago, the company launched an LTE support tracking device under the SmartThings brand, and it makes sense to use it for Smart Things Find within the next tracking device.

Smart product tracking devices usually come with Bluetooth connectivity, but Samsung could add more connectivity features, such as UWB, LTE and GPS, to the next tracking device, especially since it launched a tracking device with built-in LTE and GPS networks in 2018.

It is also rumored that Apple has a tracking device for the elements under development, which could mean new major competitors in one year, if both devices are charged.
