Professor Konstantin Titov, Head of the Department of Surgery and Oncology at the Russian University of Peoples' Friendship, announced that excessive intake of sugar and red meat increases the risk of cancer.
The professor pointed out in a television interview, that eating sugar causes obesity, and this can lead not only to high blood pressure, but also to type 2 diabetes, which often appears on the background of cancer.
The expert pointed out that tumors need "food" for their growth. And glucose is a very suitable food for that. He added, warning, that due to diabetes, the cells of the pancreas could stop producing insulin.
He said, "Carcinomas often appear in the breast, pancreas, and others." According to him, red meat contains a high content of carcinogens, especially after frying.
The expert also advises not eating processed meat, as well as charcoal grilled meat.
