Do flies and mosquitoes transmit the Corona virus to humans

During a period when many people fell into fear and panic from infection with the spreading new coronavirus, “Coronavirus COVID-19” . Many citizens around the world need to know whether the Corona virus is transmitted by insects, especially flies and mosquitoes

Mosquitoes and the transmission of infection

Mosquitoes or mosquitoes are one of the most infectious insects that transmit viruses and are among the most deadly insects in human life, as they help kill 500,000 people annually! Especially in Asia, the Middle East, South America and Africa, where the female mosquitoes need the necessary nutrition from the blood in order to help them develop their eggs, and the viruses exploit this biological process of the mosquitoes to transmit from person to person.
But for mosquitoes to transmit the infection, they first need to bite an infected person or animal. Among the most famous diseases, infections and viruses that mosquitoes help to transmit is “dengue fever , yellow fever and Zika” in addition to that it can transmit malaria, which is caused by some parasites! Therefore, they are a source of transmission for many diseases, but not all diseases or viruses, for example, they cannot transmit HIV or Ebola.
So what about the coronavirus, corona virus ? The mosquito has not yet proven to be one of the elements of transmission of the new Corona virus, although they found some coronaviruses in the blood samples of the infected insects. Even if the mosquito caught a dose of the virus during a blood meal from an infected person, there is no scientific evidence that the virus will be able to infect the mosquito If the mosquito is not infected with the virus itself, it will not be able to transmit it to another person who is not infected. The virus is transmitted directly through exposure to surfaces contaminated with the virus or by an infected person.

Flies and transmit the infection

Flies are friends with many diseases. They can transmit 60 diseases all over the world, including “tuberculosis, typhoid fever, cholera infection,” and they can transmit infection and infect food, animals and humans alike. Therefore, all practical recommendations recommend that it should be prevented from entering your home in various ways to protect yourself and your family.
But until now there is no scientific answer or results indicating that it is capable of transmitting the new Corona virus infection, as the known method for transmitting the virus so far is respiratory secretions through direct contact with an infected person and the droplet transmission from it to another uninfected.
As for the World Health Organization, it has confirmed that there is no evidence so far that flying insects such as flies and mosquitoes transmit the new Corona virus, whether by stinging or standing on surfaces. These insects, to be able to transmit the infection, the virus must multiply inside and have the ability To live inside, but this has not yet been proven.
Also, these insects may not be able to transmit the virus through the contaminated surfaces on which they stand directly to humans, because scientists have confirmed that flying insects are difficult for them to carry the virus because its size ranges between 400 and 500 micrograms, so it is difficult for them to carry it. Research is still continuing in this regard to confirm its validity with conclusive scientific evidence, and until this moment is reached, you must take your caution and follow the safety instructions to prevent the coronavirus and try to stay away from insects as much as possible
