Amazon has launched its new e-service that allows shoppers to design their own t-shirts

Amazon has launched its new made for You service, which allows shoppers to design their own t-shirts to match their sizes, based on their exact measurements.

Shoppers can customize the shirt based on the type of cloth, color, length, fit, neck and sleeve length.

The price of a special shirt is $25, the service is available to anyone in the United States, and the t-shirts can include your name printed on the label as a small feature.

Unlike some companies that use mobile technology to scan and measure your body across apps, Made for You requires users to provide them with height, weight, body style and two self-portraits, captured using the Amazon app.

Amazon builds a virtual body similar to the user's body to display the special measurement, depicting the shape of the clothes on their bodies.

Amazon says it automatically deletes any images taken by the app after the user's default body is built, and users can delete information about their measurements at any time.

Amazon describes Made for You as part of its ongoing efforts to get rid of the challenges of online shopping, and over time the company hopes to expand the service to include more styles based on user feedback.

Customers can choose from just two options for body style at launch — feminine and masculine — and Amazon said it plans to add more options because it collects additional data.

The service adds to Amazon's growing fashion ambitions, with the company launching luxury designer brand stores in September, offering a wide range of fashion brands across its website.

Luxury stores and Made for You use 3D body modeling technology, which Amazon bet heavily on when it acquired Body Labs for 3D imaging in 2017.

In recent years, Amazon has entered the field of personal shopping experiences, competing with the likes of stitch Fix.

It's experiences included Prime Wardrobe, a service that allows Prime members to try clothes before buying, and Echo Look, the device that makes fashion recommendations.

Influencers, including Blake Scott, Caralyn Mirand and Sai de Silva, promote the new service on behalf of Amazon.
