Volkswagen eager for electric robot to charge the car with his eyes

VW has introduced a prototype of the electric car charging robot that it first introduced as a model to prove the concept in late 2019.

The German giant seems to be so impressed by this concept that the prototype of the charging robot seems almost identical to the proof-of-concept model, with the addition of flashing digital eyes and R2-D2 noise.

The robot is one of the visionary shipping concepts that Volkswagen hopes to expand its charging infrastructure over the next few years.

The robot's function is to fully self-charge vehicles in parking spaces, which operates completely independently, and goes independently to the car to be shipped.

The entire charging process takes place without any human intervention at all, from opening the socket cover to plugging and separating the plug.

To charge multiple vehicles at the same time, the mobile robot transfers the mobile power volume to the vehicle, then delivers it, uses this power storage unit to charge the vehicle, and repeats the process to charge other vehicles.

After the car is fully charged, the robot independently collects the mobile power storage unit and returns it to the central charging station.

"Ubigono charging infrastructure is a key factor in the success of electrical mobility, and the charging robot is one of several ways, but it's undoubtedly one of the most creative.

Creating an efficient cargo infrastructure in the future is a central task that challenges the entire sector, and Volkswagen is developing solutions to help avoid costly independent procedures.

The mobile charging robot and the flexible fast charging station are just two different Volkswagen solutions.

Volkswagen is experimenting with a different idea in parts of China and in its home city of Wolfsburg, Germany, which includes putting batteries inside what looks like a more standard charging station column.

This allows the charging station to build a power store that can be used to charge electric cars quickly, even if the local grid is not able to distribute that much electricity at once.

Volkswagen said it plans to launch a wider launch of so-called flexible fast charging stations in early 2021.
