Elon Musk becomes the richest man in the World after beating Jeff Bezos

According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk beat Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to the title of the world's richest man, following tesla's recent 6 percent increase on Thursday, bringing Musk's fortune to$10 billion to a total of $191 billion ($716.25 billion), compared to $187 billion ($701.25 billion) for Jeff Bezos.

Elon Musk is also a major shareholder and CEO of SpaceX, but it is privately owned, so its value does not rise as much as Tesla's, while Bezos' share of Amazon's shares increased by $75 billion in 2020, to $173.3 billion ($649.9 billion) thanks to increased online store purchases under the Corona pandemic.

But this increase is not comparable to what Musk achieved, as the value of his 170 million shares in Tesla increased by $106 billion during 2020, where the value of shares increased by 743% during the year, while the value of the stock options he held at the beginning of the year to $14.2 billion, and the value of the new options he acquired during the year as part of his salary package to $21.5 billion by the end of the year.

Tesla kicked off the new year with a rise of more than $90 billion ($337.5) per share, or 13% since the beginning of the year, and Musk is set to acquire another 16.9 million shares from Tesla earlier this year, valued at $12.3 billion ($46.1 billion) in current share value, after taking into account the practice price.
