What is Apple Fitness Plus and how do I use it?

Fitness services have been widespread over the past period, which makes sense since participation in gyms is often expensive, requires constant commitment, and moreover, going to gyms or clubs to improve fitness has become extremely difficult because of the closures we see due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Consequently, sales of fitness trackers and smartwatches increased in 2020. That's why Apple launched a subscription-based service called AppleFitness Plus at the end of December.

First, what is Apple Fitness Plus?

It is a service that provides exercise slot touts by the world's best trainers, and carefully selected music from your favorite artists to keep you moving, to make it easier to exercise and make it more useful to customers anytime, anywhere they want.

Apple's fitness plus service is designed to rely on its smartwatch, so you must have an Apple Watch linked to the Apple ID until the service arrives even though you can start workouts without wearing the watch afterwards by synchronizing the service with various Apple devices.

Apple Fitness Plus is now available for apple watch, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV users. It allows you to access 180 exercises across 10 different categories. But there are some differences in service depending on the device you are using.

The service automatically appears in the Fitness app , formerly called Activity, on iPhone after updating to iOS 14.3. However, you'll need to manually download the Fitness app on your iPad.

Second, how to use Apple Fitness Plus:

Using the service requires an Apple Watch Series 3 or any later version, and updating the watch's operating system to a version (watchOS 7.3). Then you can pair it with an iPhone 6s or any newer iOS 14.3 version. However, after completing the initial setup of the service, you can do exercise without having to wear the watch, so you can continue to work on your iPhone or iPad.

For now, you'll need an Apple TV to continue performing, and using the Fitness app on your Apple TV device requires it to be updated to a version (tvOS 14.3) or any later version, as well as if you want to use the service on an iPad device that must be updated to iPadOS 14.3 or any later version.

1- To register for the service you can follow the following steps:

  • Go to the Fitness app on your iPhone.
  • Click on the Fitness plus tab that appears at the bottom of the screen.
  • Click on the Continue option, then choose whether you want to share your data with Apple.
  • After that, you can choose a subscription plan, and there is a free trial period but the length of the free trial period depends on the fact that you have recently purchased an Apple product.
  • If you are subscribed to the Apple One Premier plan, you will be taken directly to the Fitness plus main service screen without having to choose a plan because it is included in it.

  • 2. To start an exercise at Apple Fitness Plus you can follow these steps:

    • It's easy to start your workout in service, but for the best experience make sure you wear the Apple Watch.
    • Head to the Fitness app on your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.
    • Tap the Fitness Plus tab, then choose an exercise that you can use the categories at the top of the app, or choose filter (filter) in the top right corner to search using the trainer's name, workout duration, or music.
    • After selecting an exercise, click the Let's Go option. Then you can press the play button on your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV to get started, or start your workout from your watch that also has a large green turn button on its screens.

    • The exercise will end automatically if you stick to it until the end, and if you need to finish the exercise before it ends, click on your screen, then press the (X) button that appears in the corner, and choose End Workout.

Third, what is the cost of subscribing to the service?

  • Apple offers two plans to subscribe to Apple Fitness Plus: a monthly plan of $10, and the second: an annual plan of $79.99 per year.

Users who purchase an Apple Watch Series 3 or any newer model also receive a free subscription to the service for three months, with the possibility of sharing a subscription with up to 5 people with family members.

You can also subscribe to the service via the Apple One Premier plan, which comes at $29.95 per month and combines 6 services for six family members, including: Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, Apple News Plus, Fitness Plus, and 2TB in iCloud.
